GENDER TROUBLE

do you think it’s okay to use phrases like “a post-Butler world” in an essay? what is happening to me?

goodbye, beard. hello, summer.
this never lasts long.

THE LIE AND HOW WE TOLD IT

okay, so let’s get real: i spent none of this weekend studying.

friday: hung out with my friend paul and we watched lilja 4-ever which was basically The Most Depressing Thing.

saturday: worked most of the day, and then went to see yo la tengo at the toronto underground cinema for the closing night of the images festival. they performed their score for the sounds of science (eight films by jean painlevé) over 35mm projections. then i hit up my friend jen’s housewarming party and biked home at three AM, at which point i ate leftover pie and watched the short films of peter greenaway before passing out.

sunday: woke up late, had some weird combination of breakfast/dinner (ie. “first meal at 5pm”) with tara and javy at utopia, and then we watched a zed and two noughts in preparation for the first episode of our new podcast (in which we will discuss our favourite film).

my exam is tomorrow, so i guess today is the day that i do nothing but read about the french revolution.
